Stitches

With four boys I think anyone would expect that our family will have our fair share of visits to the Emergency Room.  So far we have had various trips including a split chin, sliced finger, fingernail removal due to a finger being slammed in the door, and a broken bone (which we didn't actually go to the ER for, oops!).

Last week we made another visit to the ER.  Poor Grant split his forehead right open!  He came tearing out of the car, running around the backside of the car and as he came around the passenger side, Cooper opened his door and Grant's head smacked right into the edge of it.  He split it right open!  I was inside changing a diaper at the time.  Jeff rushed him in the house and the first words out of his mouth to me were, "Don't freak out!"  There was a lot of blood!  Jeff took him straight to the ER, and he ended up with five stitches.

Grant was extremely brave and handled the whole thing so well.  There were no tears when he was getting stitched, and there were no tears when he got the stitches removed either.  He is one tough kid!  He has been very self conscious of his scar though, which makes his mom and dad sad.  When he had his bandaid, he wanted to wear his hat everywhere we went because he didn't want anyone to see it.  Since the stitches have come out he has asked me if it looks "tan" yet (he doesn't want the scar there).  The doctors did a really nice job but of course there will be a scar.   Hopefully with time and some Mederma it will heal even more and you won't notice it so much.

Enjoying milkshakes for being so brave!  Thank you sweet Eleanor for thinking of Grant!

Grant's selfie I found on my camera from this morning, you can see his scar.
(How much does he look like Jackson in this picture??!!)
