Six and Four

Jackson turned 6 and Grant and Cooper turned 4 about a month ago!  I can't believe how big our boys have gotten.  They have become so independent.  It is fun to watch them play together.  There is A LOT of imaginary play most days.  They love playing with legos, star wars figures, dress up clothes, and wrestle of course!

Jackson's special day was spent playing at Pump It Up, eating pizza at his favorite restaurant, indulging in chocolate peanut butter cupcakes, and building his new lego sets.  A perfect day according to Jackson!

A couple weeks later Jackson had his birthday party with a few friends.  A Lego theme of course!

Life

Its been almost two months since I lasted posted on here.  What's been going on?  Well, life has been going on.  We've been busy and I've been a tired mom and just haven't had the energy to sit down at the end of the night to write about it.  I'm going to do my best now to catch up and stay on top of things.  For my own recording, I'm going to recap the last two months...

Back in February, I got to travel with my mom to Texas to visit my grandparents for their 70th, yes 70TH, wedding anniversary.  It was a surprise for them that I was coming along on the trip.  It was so fun to see their faces when we walked up to their car at the airport.  It was worth the 20-plus hours of travel it took to get there (another long story in itself!).  We had a party for them in their neighborhood center to celebrate their anniversary, and over 100 people came to congratulate them.  They are an amazing couple!

In March, we had some major snow, even a snow day!  The boys loved sledding with their new sleds from Christmas.  I was able to get out and take some pictures of them on one of their sledding trips.
Wipeout!
We played in the yard and made snow tunnels, which the boys loved!  They were pretending they were either caves that they slept in or a jail for the bad guys.

On a day off from school we checked out the lego factory in Libertyville.  It was ok, not quite what Jackson was hoping for, but we killed a few hours of playtime.

Those are a few highlights, but we've had lots of birthday celebrations too...that's next!
